Sie wird von Ann-Elisabeth Wolff geleitet, ist das bedeutendste Festival seiner Art in den neuen Bundesländern und gehört zu den wichtigsten Festivals innovativen Theaters und Tanzes in Europa. Die euro-scene Leipzig präsentiert jährlich in sechs Tagen etwa zwölf Gastspiele in rund 25 Vorstellungen und neun verschiedenen Spielstätten mit mehreren Deutschlandpremieren. Sie zeigt sowohl bedeutende Choreografen und Regisseure Europas als auch jüngere, zu entdeckende Kompanien. Die euro-scene Leipzig veranstaltet seit 1997 auch den Wettbewerb „Das beste deutsche Tanzsolo“ in der Konzeption von Alain Platel, Gent. Die euro-scene Leipzig gehört zu den Ko-Veranstaltern der Tanzplattform Deutschland und hat diese im Februar 2002 in Leipzig organisiert. Sie ist Mitglied des Informal European Theatre Meeting (IETM), des Intenationalen Theaterinstituts (ITI) und des Deutschen Produzentenpreises für Choreografie. |
The euro-scene Leipzig, Festival for Contemporary European Theatre and Dance, was founded in 1991 and takes place every year in November. The festival is directed by Ann-Elisabeth Wolff. It is the most remarkable festival of its kind in the New Laender and one of the most important theatre events in Europe. Every year the euro-scene Leipzig presents approx. twelve groups in 25 performances on six days and in nine different venues with several German premieres. The programme presents important European choreographers and directors as well as young, still undiscovered companies. The festival has hosted the competition “Best German Dance Solo” as originally conceived by Alain Platel, Ghent, since 1997. The euro-scene Leipzig is one of the co-organisers of the German Dance Platform, which it hosted in Leipzig in February 2002. It is also a member of the Informal European Theatre Meeting (IETM), International Theatre Institute (ITI) and the Deutscher Produzentenpreis für Choreografie.
